Top All Time Professional Football Franchise

Pittsburgh is home to the absolute greatest pro football team of all time! The Pittsburgh Steelers with their famous yellow and black uniforms have been in the Super Bowl 7 times with six victories. Four of those Super Bowl victories were within 6 years.

Between the awesome coaches and seriously talented players, Pittsburgh seems to be destined to be a regular Super Bowl contender. Sure, there are other teams that have made it to the Super Bowl more often and even teams that have won the Super Bowl more often than the Steelers, however true fans know that their team can’t win every game or go to every championship, because then the challenge of football would be lost. There are winning teams, winning seasons, winning lineups, and there are also losing plays, losing lineups, and losing seasons, a fan just has to roll with the punches much the same as the players.

Over the years the Steelers have locker room has been home to many famous names in the sport of Pro football. Joe Green, Terry Bradshaw, Jack Ham, Dwight “MadDog” White, and Lynn Swann are just a few names that will be remembered throughout time.

Coach Bill Cowher led the Steelers to the 2005 Wild-Card Steelers and into the NFL history books by winning three playoff wild-card road games and the Super Bowl. Mike Tomlin led the Steelers to their 6th Super Bowl win in his 2nd season as coach, defeating the Cardinals in Tampa, making the Steelers the first team to have 6 Super Bowl victories. Santonio Holmes, a Florida native, was awarded MVP for Super Bowl XLIII (the sixth wide receiver to win this award and third Pittsburg Steelers player) when the Steelers took the Cardinals to the ground with a 15–4 defeat. Holmes, in the last 35 seconds of the game, concluded the scoring for the game with his amazing 6-yard touchdown catch.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been around since the 1930’s and over those decades, the team has developed their own way of doing business. The Steelers build teams that do not blink. The Steelers in all their incarnations are a brotherhood, of men, of boys, of time and effort, of a determination to win, at whatever cost. The 6 Super Bowl victories that they have to show for it, proves that this isn’t a flash in the pan team, they’ve been around and been winning for a lot of years and have no plans to stop now.

When you look at all the NFL teams throughout the history of the game, there can be no other answer as to which team is the best all time pro football team. The Pittsburgh Steelers have evolved since being founded by Art Rooney back in the ‘30’s all the way up to the year 2009 when they took home their 6th Super Bowl victory and will continue to evolve and do whatever it takes to remain on top, the greatest professional football franchise ever!
