Best All-Time College Football Rivalry

Year in and year out, the rivalry game between the University of Texas and the University of Oklahoma is the best, most exciting, football game played in the entire country. Why, you may ask? There are many reasons why. Let's explore those together...

For one, the governors of both states willingly, and continually, bet on the outcome of the game. It's usually nothing but a bar-b-que hosted by the losing side's governor, in the winning state. But, it's still a bet!

Secondly, it has to be held at a neutral site, just to make sure it's a fair match. I mean, really, would you want to walk into Norman, Oklahoma wearing burnt orange? I know I wouldn't!

Third -- people line the roads from Norman, Oklahoma, all the way to Dallas, Texas, waving OU banners, and flags, hosting “Beevo burger” bashes, and cheering on the multitudes of cars worming their way to root for the Sooners. Not to mention, the ROTC groups from each school run from Austin or Norman, all the way to Dallas' Cottonbowl Stadium to prepare for, and cheer on their school's team.

And last, but certainly not least, tickets for this very hotly contested game are sold out up to 5 years in advance of a game!! With so much going on, and so many people hyped up about it, and even higher-ranking government officials betting on the outcome of a simple football game, how could anyone NOT believe this to be the most exciting football rivalry game in the country?

Wait, make that world, since football in other countries isn't the same.

Of course, this may all be my imagination, because, after all, not only do I bleed crimson and cream, but.. “I'm Sooner born, and Sooner bred, and when I die, I'll be Sooner dead!”
