Small College Football Coaches

Twenty-one times a small college football coach has won a national title and had a career record of at least 200 or more victories.

The legendary St. Johns MN head coach, John Gagliardi in 2003 won his most recent title. His 422 triumphs easily ranks above all who follow this coach; after the 2003 season saw his career standard to read: 422-165-15.

Mount Unions Larry Kehres is the only active coach among the seven coaches with at least 250 career wins. Even should his team win the 2010 NCAA III title for a continuous record 11th time, would only increase his victory total not raise his rank; currently fifth. Kehres' last title came in 2008 as his team finished the season 15-0-0; raising his victory total to 274 and a career slate of 274-21-3.
