High Scoring Small College Football Teams

Small college football teams highlight teams scoring over 500 points in a season. There are many more small college teams that accomplish the 500+ points in a season than major college football teams.

Back in 2004, Pittsburg State KS went on a scoring spree and didnt stop until it had played all the games a team could do. The NCAA II established the record for points in a single-season with 837 points; yet didnt win its divisions national championship.

In all, small college football teams have 268 time scored 500 or more points in a single-season. Of that that total, a dozen have surpassed the 700 point mark including three teams that have scored at least 700 points three times!

The most prolific scoring team, regardless of division, in college football stathistory/500+ Points Scored is Mount Union OH, a NCAA III school.

Heading into the 2010 season, the Purple Raiders have recorded 16 seasons scoring at least that mark; including 15 consecutive. Mount Union's high mark of 775 points scored was in 1997.
