Best All Time College Hockey Scorer

There are a lot of benchmarks to determine a great hockey player and depending on their position different qualities matter more. For defensemen it is not how much they score but rather the skating ability, their ability to block the forwards of the opposing team and how they help protect their goalie. But for forwards, goal scoring is a top component in determining their ranking on a team.

College hockey player Brian Holzinger skated in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association and brought his team to second place, its highest finish since 1988. A great little figure skater as a young child, he gave it up at the age of 7 to pursue hockey and today he is being called one of the top skaters in the country and maybe the best all time college hockey scorer.

Holzinger played high school hockey at Padua Franciscan High School in Parma, Ohio and four years of college hockey at Bowling Green State University. He was the recipient of the Hobey Baker Award for the top men's collegiate hockey player during his senior year. In his NHL career, Holzinger appeared in 547 regular season games. He scored 93 goals and added 145 assists. In 52 Stanley Cup playoff games, he scored 11 goals and 18 assists. He was also honored with the Hobey Baker Award (top player in NCAA) in 1994–1995 season.

Another top scorer in college hockey history is Colin Wilson, who this year was named the best college hockey player of the year. He is currently playing for Boston University of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). He has been awarded New England's College Hockey Rookie of the Year, as well as Hockey East Rookie of the Year. He is a top scorer and top skater in his league. His father, Carey Wilson, was also an amazing hockey player for NHL. Like father, like son.
